The Electrical Power Company of Cuba reports that yesterday the service was affected due to a deficit in generation capacity from 05:56 am to 02:28 am today (20 hours and 32 minutes). The maximum impact of the day was 678 MW, at 5:30 p.m.

The availability of the SEN at 07:00 hours is 2,100 MW and the demand is 2,240 MW. As of 06:07 hours, the service began to be affected due to capacity deficit, the effects will continue throughout today.

Unit 5 of the CTE Mariel, unit 6 of the CTE Diez de Octubre, unit 2 of the CTE Felton and unit 3 of the CTE Rente are out of service due to a breakdown. Unit 3 of the CTE Santa Cruz, the unit of the CTE Guiteras, unit 4 of the CTE Cienfuegos and units 4, 5 and 6 of the CTE Renté are under maintenance.

The UNE indicates that the limitations on thermal generation (247 MW) are maintained. In distributed generation, 848 MW are unavailable due to failure and 57 MW are under maintenance.

For the peak, the completion of the Puerto Escondido unit with 10 MW and the recovery of 90 MW of distributed generation engines are expected.

With this forecast, an availability of 2,200 MW and a maximum demand of 2,885 MW are estimated for the peak hour, for a deficit of 685 MW, so that if the forecast conditions are maintained, an affectation of 755 MW is forecast at this time.
