A Day for Safety and Health at Work is dedicated to Tourism in Ciego De Ávila

In the Tourism sector, activities were concentrated in Ciego de Ávila for the World Day of Safety and Health at Work, a day that is celebrated every April 28 to promote labor protection against accidents and occupational diseases.

The Ciego de Ávila hotel was the scene of a simulation of extracting victims from the swimming pool by the Fire Department, the Cuban Red Cross and lifeguards from the Islazul brand-chain, including talks and conversations on how to guarantee a working environment in each tourist facility safe and healthy.

Odelaisy Bonilla Padrón, Occupational Health and Safety specialist at the Islazul chain explained that another of the purposes of the day is to promote workplace resilience in times of crisis, as well as the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.

The World Day for Safety and Health at Work ponders this year a safe and healthy working environment, within the framework of the fundamental principles and rights of the International Labor Conference.
