International Nursing Day was celebrated this Friday in Ciego de Ávila with a political-cultural act in the central José Martí Park, dedicated this year to women, who represent the majority of the qualified health workforce.

In the provincial act for International Nursing Day, the retired nurse Ignacia Rodríguez Figueredo was recognized, while Odalis Milián Burgo and Nadiova Victoria Zayas were distinguished with the Manuel Piti Fajardo medal.

Similarly, nurses Betsy Torres Rodríguez, Odania Mondeja Ortiz, Yilan Size Pompa, Dayamary Acosta Cruz and Yasmay Ortiz Benítez stand out for their excellent professional performance in the city of Ciego de Ávila.

The provincial act for International Nursing Day was also propitious to evoke the creation of the Cuban Nursing Society on its 64th anniversary, by the president of that Chapter in Ciego de Ávila, Daynier Anta Rodríguez.
