    Hoy, Segunda Sesión Extraordinaria de la Asamblea Nacional

    This Thursday, at the Havana Convention Center, the Second Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of Popular Power (ANPP) will take place, in its X Legislature. In it, an update on the country's economic situation will be presented, the latest version of the Social Communication Bill will be debated and submitted for approval, and permanent work commissions and parliamentary friendship groups will be established.

    Yesterday, on the last and second day, prior to today's session, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, shared with the people's representatives an analysis of the national and international context of post-pandemic, wars, tightening of the blockade and economic crisis.

    He affirmed that the road is full of challenges and adversities that we are obliged to face and overcome with a spirit of victory, with effort and talent, with determination, unity and creativity. He said that the work objectives are to get out of the complex economic and social situation with a comprehensive political guarantee from the PCC, which stimulates the understanding and participation of the people, strengthens unity, raises hope, causes the improvement of the functioning of the ANPP and promote an agile and effective management of the Government.

    The leader emphasized compliance with what was approved in the ANPP sessions, in the visits of the deputies to the base and the processing and follow-up of these, in the resolution of the problems raised, in the accountability of the administrations, and in make budgets and their execution transparent.

    In addition to the diversity of topics addressed in the preparation, and in the intervention of the Head of State, the deputies received a conference from the president of the ANPP, Esteban Lazo Hernández.
