Physical Planning Entity
The Provincial Directorate of Physical Planning of Ciego de Ávila is an entity subordinated to the Council of Provincial Administration, and methodologically to the Institute of Physical Planning, attached to the Ministry of Construction.
Mission
To establish the norms and actions of the province, corresponding to the Integral Ordinance Plans, to represent the primary role that we have in the Government Plan for the economic-social development of the territory; pleasantly combining its economic potential and social values with the environment of its natural resources, its architecture and development perspectives, which make it stands out in the national territory and internationally.

It is the entity that depends on the provincial government body, rector of Land-use Ordinance and Urban Planning in Ciego de Ávila, capable of effectively regulating all the provisions on our territory, aimed at creating a predictable and better-ordered future in order to guarantee the sustainable development of our economy and our society, focused on ournation and the world.
Social purpose
Physical Planning Entity, created by the revolution in 1960, is in charge of directing, regulating, carrying out and controlling the territorial ordinance and urban planning, in compliance with the policy of the State and the Government and the decisions adopted by theAssemblies of People's Powerand its Boards of Directors. Having present the socio-economic and environmental characteristics of the province, we must anticipate the future sustainable development of Ciego de Avila citizens. Tasks
1. To elaborate the provincial scheme and the provincial plan of territorial ordinance, direct and control their implementation.
2. To prepare partial and special schemes and plans, as well as investment location studies at the provincial or municipal level, necessary to specify the provincial schemes and plans.
3. To create the general plans for land-use and urban planning of the municipalities, cities and towns and the necessary detailed studies.
4. To formulate the general plan of land-use and urban planning of tourist areas.
5. To make partial and special plans, detailed studies and investment location, which are necessary to develop and specify the general plan for land-use and urban planning, as well as direct and control its implementation.
6. To exercise control of land and urban planning, in close collaboration with other institutions, in order to detect indiscipline, stop illegal works, order demolitions and punish offenders.
7. To establish licenses for the authorization of the use and occupation of the land, the beginning of construction works, as well as the certification of its conclusion for state works and by own effort, in accordance with compliance with the regulations and requirements of land-use and urban planning plans.
8. To update the urban and rural land registries of municipalities and settlements.
9. To control the norms for the better functioning of urban and rural settlements.
10. Toproposeterritorial studies for the improvement of the Political-Administrative Division with the participation of the corresponding agencies and entities.
