She prefers to act. Speak only what is necessary. Working feels like a succeess for her. She is not afraid of work. She knows that it is necessary to grow, to strengthen the spirit, not to fall into immobility.

Ania Rosa Francisco Malde, 53 years old, is a Programming Technician, taught mathematics classes and for almost 32 years was part of the Transportation sector, performing and fulfilling different tasks until she became one of the Provincial Directors with the best results at the national level. “Although it is an area where the male sex predominates, nothing daunted me and I always found respect and support. For me, it was a true school, to which I owe to a large extent what I can do today".

On the verge of reaching the degree of Master in Management Sciences, she thinks that improvement has to be constant. "No matter how old you are. Every day you learn something new”. Again for her, she qualifies her performance in the Government of Ciego de Ávila, where she was elected Lieutenant Governor. “This activity has required all my will and effort. Here we owe ourselves to the people and to reciprocate, we must listen to them, go to the base, not evade responsibilities or postpone responses”, she says.

She remembers the impact of her first meeting with the students, when she began as a teacher and also when she started her working life in the Transport Company, without being a mechanical engineer, but both obstacles she knew how to overcome them with that decision that did not abandon her: things cannot be taken afraid. Another impact that she recalls with sincere pride is the one that caused the fact that she decided to work at a boarding point, when she the Special Period began “I stayed there for 11 months. The population that knew me, whether it was Education or Transportation itself, wondered why I who was there. For me, it was not a cause for pain, since it is a work as honorable and necessary as any other. On the contrary, I feel that it added positive experiences to me”.

She considers that the direction of the Government is difficult. Self-preparation is vital and covering different fronts, it forces us to know them, in order to not make mistakes. The task has been carried out in the midst of a complex context and this makes it more demanding. That is why she is never tired of asking, of suggesting, of paying attention.

But she is not just the Lieutenant Governor. Ania continues to be the daughter, the sister, the mother and the loving wife, who receives the full support and the understanding of the family, rewarded with the arrival of her first grandson, who, like government activity, also robs her hours of sleep, what she fully enjoys.

She gives love and respect to everybody. Her gaze is transparent. She will never demand what she is not capable of doing herself. She fully complies with the principle of "touching things with her hands", because she believes that it is a way of guaranteeing good work, as a public servant.
