Assembly of the PCC in Ciego de Ávila

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC by its Spanish initials) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, chairs the Provincial Balance Assembly of the Party, which began this morning in Ciego de Ávila.

The members of the Council of State approved two new decree laws that contribute to the strengthening of aspects of the economic and social life of the country and analyzed important issues on the national agenda, in the extraordinary session this Tuesday, headed by the President of this body, Esteban Lazo Hernández, and with the participation of the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz.

In Ciego de Ávila, a joint project of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the European Union is progressing, consisting of the installation of photovoltaic solar systems with two kW of power (2,000 watts) in 167 homes isolated from the electricity grid in the northern part of the province, affected by Hurricane Irma in 2017.

The need to increase food production, among other important issues, will occupy the center of the debates of the Balance Assembly of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba in Ciego de Ávila, which will be held this Friday, March 25, with the presence of 150 delegates and about 50 guests.
